This is a soundscape centered around field recordings collected in 2020. Throughout, you hear the intimate crackle of a radiator, as if the whole piece is the mental replaying of memories while huddled in bed during winter. It centers around a woman singing on a busy train. At the pre-pandemic time of recording, everyone had been ignoring her, with Midtown finance bros chatting unbothered as she sang. The train then opens up to a different noisy tumult of pandemic summer and honks during BLM protests around Brooklyn. The piece ends with the woman’s voice suddenly clear but distant, as if heard through a radio back in your room by the radiator.
